As I've mentioned before, my husband would rather I stopped talking about QAF, but now and then when I'm really stuck on a story I try to convince him to help me brainstorm.

I'm desperate for an idea for the weather/vacation challenge and this is what he came up with:

1. Justin's boyfriend dumps him so he decides to get away to Hawaii. When he gets there his ex is staying at the same hotel with his new boyfriend. Justin is depressed but he is cheered up by Brian, the hot helpful guy that works behind the front desk. (This is the plot to Forgetting Sarah Marshall for anyone who hasn't seen it)

2. Justin goes on vacation to visit his eccentric storm chaser uncle and somehow gets trapped in a balloon that floats away. Brian tracks the balloon, saves Justin and they fall in love.

I'm not sure if his plan is to give me the worst possible ideas so I stop asking OR if maybe he is a bad!fic genius!

This amused me so much, I had to tell my husband! He was all, "I could so come up with better stuff." Heee. So now he is trying.

Here is the best one: They are both in Jacarta but don't know each other when a tsunami hits and they end up hanging on to the same tree for 48 hours before they are rescued. They spend that time talking and falling in love. They can't physically do anything because they are holding on for dear life. Then they have hot, after-crisis sex.

Here is another:

Justin is the governor of South Carolina and decides to hike the Appalachian Trail where he meets a Colombian guide, Brian, who ends up being his soul mate.

And his first idea, which wasn't vacation or weather related-

Justin is on trial for a crime he didn't commit and Brian is his lawyer. Much chemistry ensues.

I like that my husband had Justin being the governor instead of Brian. So often Justin ends up as the lesser of the two, you know?

Clearly he is a bad!fic genius and has a secret yearning of his own to write trashy gay romance stories. We are so on to him! :o)

If you haven't come up with an idea yet (And you feel like indulging a friend who wuvs you vewy vewy much) you could always work on some of that 'Brian and Justin have sex in the summer rain (posibly at night) with dirty open mouthed kisses and grabby hands' fantasy of mine. Just saying. *shrugs*

I love that idea! The sad thing is I have a few good ideas... but I can't seem to get anything on paper. I'm hoping the pressure of the deadline will kick in soon and I'll get something done. Usually I'm done with my story by this close to the deadline.

Thanks for the idea! I'll see what I can do :) Unfortunately I think I'll be lucky if I manage to write anything!

Sorry to break it to you but I think my husband is going to open his own journal on LJ and write all the good bad!fic ideas. I think he will be a huge hit there. ROFL!

The writing went great! I got everything done, I just need to polish the fics, and the drabbles are already with the beta. The monkey on my back is no longer the size of a gorilla!!! :D Bless my husband! While he is no bad!fic genius (though he did say he was gonna try to see what really bad ideas HE could come up with), he was sweet about letting me run off and hibernate, so I could get these done.

The balloon is silver of course... but then it turns out that his uncle is a scam artist and Justin was locked in the attic all along ;)
